At Catalyst, Eaton helps spearhead government relations for companies of all sizes, from Fortune 500 to start ups, as well as several non-profits and professional associations.

Eaton has helped dozens of clients navigate the legislative process, including businesses facing unique regulatory challenges such as online fantasy sports. An avid fantasy sports player, Eaton has worked with players and providers like DraftKings and FanDuel to ensure a regulatory framework is in place for the one in six Missourians who play fantasy sports.

He has helped gain state government support for workforce development initiatives including LaunchCode, a Missouri-based non-profit that creates paid technology apprenticeships that helps train and match talented individuals with companies that need coders and other skills that are often scarce in the workforce.

Before joining Catalyst, Eaton advocated for multiple trade associations where he directly lobbied the legislative and executive branches of government on behalf of their legislative priorities.  Eaton served as Director of Governmental Affairs and Member Relations at the Missouri Biotechnology Association (MOBIO), a leading trade organization representing a cross-section of companies, higher education institutions, research organizations and life sciences’ firms.  His leadership portfolio at MOBIO included managing the bipartisan legislative program BIO Benchmarking, leading a delegation of elected officials to Canada in partnership with the Canadian Consulate General, creating the legislative Biotech Caucus and service as a member of the St. Louis Plant & Life Science Network, Council of State Bioscience Associations, and Kansas City Animal Health Corridor.

As an advocate for energy policies that keep electricity prices low for consumers across the Midwest, Eaton served as a field representative for the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity representing industries involved in producing electricity through coal.  Eaton’s responsibilities included managing grassroots advocacy across three critical energy-producing states: Illinois, Missouri and Ohio.

Eaton has served as a key advisor to several leaders in government and politics.  He provided strategic and tactical counsel to United States Senator Jim Talent, served as Director of Policy for Missouri State Senator Mike Parson, the current Lieutenant Governor of Missouri, and managed the successful reelection campaign for Missouri State Senator Kurt Schaefer.
