ALEX EATON

Alex Eaton is a senior member of CATALYST’s government affairs department where he provides strategic consultation and manages public policy portfolios for the company’s clients.  With over a decade of experience, Eaton specializes in providing trusted, high-level government affairs advice to corporations and trade associations drawing on his extensive experience in government, politics and the private sector.

At CATALYST, Eaton helps spearhead government affairs for companies of all sizes, from Fortune 500 to start ups, as well as several non-profits and professional associations.

Eaton has helped dozens of clients navigate the legislative process, including businesses facing unique regulatory challenges such as online fantasy sports. An avid fantasy sports player, Eaton has worked with operators like DraftKings, BetMGM, and FanDuel to ensure a regulatory framework is in place for the one in six Missourians who play fantasy sports.

Eaton also spearheaded the drive for Missouri to implement name, image, and likeness (NIL) legislation, ending the unjust NCAA rule which denied basic rights and freedoms to student athletes.

Before joining CATALYST, Eaton advocated for multiple trade associations where he directly lobbied the legislative and executive branches of government on behalf of their legislative priorities.  Eaton served as Director of Governmental Affairs and Member Relations at the Missouri Biotechnology Association (MOBIO). His leadership portfolio at MOBIO included managing the bipartisan legislative program BIO Benchmarking, leading a delegation of elected officials to Canada in partnership with the Canadian Consulate General, and creating the legislative Biotech Caucus.

As an advocate for energy policies that keep electricity prices low for consumers across the Midwest, Eaton served as a field representative for the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity. Eaton’s responsibilities included managing grassroots advocacy across three critical energy-producing states: Illinois, Missouri and Ohio.

Eaton has served as a key advisor to several leaders in government and politics. He provided strategic and tactical counsel to United States Senator Jim Talent, served as Director of Policy for Missouri State Senator Mike Parson, the current Governor of Missouri, and managed the successful reelection campaign for Missouri State Senator Kurt Schaefer.

A native of Warsaw, Missouri, Eaton received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with a minor in Global Perspective for the 21st century (GP21) from Drury University.  While attending Drury University, Eaton studied abroad at Regents University in London, England and Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, Italy.
