CHRISTINE HESSE

Christine is a veteran government relations professional with more than 25 years of legislative and regulatory experience at the federal and state levels. She most recently spent several years as the head of government relations handling Federal, Multistate and state Attorneys General work for a public holding company in the consumer finance space.  

Prior to working in-house, Christine spent more than 20 years in Washington, D.C. as a lawyer-lobbyist with a national law firm and started a D.C. office for a regional firm, providing strategic counsel to C-Suite executives and successfully implementing sophisticated legislative and regulatory initiatives for a broad spectrum of financial services-related clients, as well as companies across the other sectors. She also hired and managed local political counsel across the country for state advocacy work on behalf of firm clients. 

In addition to her deep policy expertise, Christine has worked on a number of political campaigns, including Presidential and several U.S. House and Senate races. Before joining the private sector, she worked as a legislative counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing & Urban Affairs, and the U.S. Committee on Appropriations and as a legislative counsel to the Ohio Attorney General's office, Ohio Senate, and Connecticut General Assembly.

Christine was born in the Washington, D.C. area but spent most of her time growing up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Her father had worked in D.C. as an aide to U.S. Senator Everett Dirksen (R-IL), Senate Minority Leader for eleven years and a key player in the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, before he became a corporate government and public affairs executive for a major Cleveland, Ohio-based steel company. 

Christine graduated from Capital University Law School and Miami University. She currently lives in Park City, Utah. Christine’s extensive experience, work ethic and vibrant spirit will provide immediate value to our clients. She will be working on Federal, Multistate and AG issues.
