JOHN MONROE

John has operated in the political and government affairs field since 2013. He has a broad range of experience, including serving as Personal Aide to U.S. Senatorial Candidates in New Jersey and Louisiana. John was recruited by the Brownback Administration to serve in the role of Constituent Services Representative where his office was the point of contact in connecting the people of Kansas to the Governor.

John’s extensive knowledge and passion for healthcare policy brought him to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), the largest government agency in Kansas. At KDHE, John served as Liaison to the Kansas Legislature, where he advised the legislature and influenced passage of laws impacting all environmental and health matters, including those related to the KanCare Medicaid program.

In 2017, 1861 Consulting (previously Hein Governmental Consulting), one of the most prominent and influential lobbying firms in Kansas, enlisted John. He spent the next several years covering a vast spectrum of political issues, with primary focus on healthcare policy, on behalf of more than twenty business organizations, nonprofits, and trade associations.

John holds an MBA in Leadership Studies from the University of Kansas, and a BA in Political Science from Benedictine College where he is a member of the Alumni Advisory Council.

John has lived and worked all across the United States, and now calls Kansas home thanks to the incredible people and opportunities the Sunflower State offers.
