TASHAYLA PERSON

Tashayla Person is a seasoned policy advocate and legislative expert with a record of driving impactful change in the public policy arena. She has held senior roles in influential organizations and government offices, shaping policy and fostering collaborations.

Tashayla served as the Vice President of Policy for Quality Schools Coalition. In that role she worked diligently to advance policy recommendations to both the state legislature and regulatory agencies in Missouri to allow public schools to flourish and better prepare students for success in college and careers.

Previously, as Director of Public Policy at the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City, Tashayla tracked policy developments that could impact some of Kansas City’s biggest companies and organizations.

As National Security Advisor to U.S. Senator Pat Roberts in Washington D.C., Tashayla had top secret clearance and tracked global developments that could impact our country and her allies. In addition to her national security focus, Tashayla’s portfolio included policy issues as diverse as regulatory reform, workforce development and education.

Person has been actively involved in the political sphere, assisting with various statewide campaigns, congressional activities, including the organization of Congressional Gold Medal Ceremonies, Joint Meetings of Congress, Presidential Inaugurations, and National Conventions.

She holds a BS in Political Science from Kansas State University and a master’s degree in Defense and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College.
